According to the AP News on the 23rd (local time), Don Wilson, guitarist of The Ventures, known for hit songs such as "Walk, Don't Run" and "Hawaii Five-O," passed away from natural causes in Tacoma, Washington, USA.
His son Tim Wilson stated in a press release, "My father was an amazing guitarist who inspired people worldwide through his band The Ventures," adding, "He will be deeply missed."
The Ventures had 38 albums chart on the US music charts from the 1960s to the early 1970s, with 14 albums appearing on the Billboard charts alone. They also set a record as the best-selling instrumental band, with over 100 million albums sold worldwide.
