CGV Reopens on the 9th of Next Month: "IMAX Has the Highest Audience Occupancy Rate"
Director Christopher Nolan's "Dunkirk" is returning to IMAX screens. CGV announced on the 24th that the film will be re-released at seventeen locations nationwide starting from the 9th of next month. The film depicts the evacuation operation carried out to rescue approximately 400,000 British and Allied troops stranded on the coast of Dunkirk, France during World War II. To enhance realism, over 1,300 actors were cast, and thirteen civilian vessels that actually participated in the Dunkirk operation, along with Spitfire fighter planes, were deployed. Director Nolan shot 79 minutes with IMAX cameras and 27 minutes with 65mm film cameras. The overwhelming scale, intense imagery, and immersive sound provide a sense of being right in the middle of the battlefield. A CGV representative introduced it as "the film with the highest IMAX audience share relative to total viewers."
