Gimhae City Hall Official Suspected of 'Jeju Golf Entertainment'... Ministry of the Interior and Safety Investigation
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Three public officials affiliated with Gimhae City Hall in Gyeongnam are under suspicion of receiving golf entertainment in Jeju Island from a local company, prompting the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to launch an investigation.
According to Gimhae City on the 21st, they are suspected of having received golf entertainment worth approximately 3 million KRW over a 2-night, 3-day period in Jeju Island last November through the said company.
The inspection team of the Prime Minister's Office confirmed this fact and handed the case over to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the responsible department.
An official from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety stated, "It is true that we received the related suspicion from the Prime Minister's Office, but since the investigation is currently ongoing, we are not at a stage to disclose detailed information."
Before the investigation results from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety arrived, Gimhae City temporarily reassigned these officials to lower positions. It is understood that they are not senior officials of grade 5 or higher.
