BPA Announces Strategic Goals and Action Plans for This Year ... Aiming to Develop Busan Port as a Central Hub for Maritime Logistics
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Dooyul] Busan Port Authority (BPA) announced its strategic goals and major implementation plans for 2022 to enhance the competitiveness of Busan Port on the 20th.
From the 4th to the 7th, 83 key tasks and 130 general tasks for 2022 submitted by each headquarters were reviewed, and 11 major tasks were selected centered on executives and headquarters directors that align with the organization's management goals and strategic directions.
The four strategic goals are △ Innovation of future port value, △ Strengthening port competitiveness, △ Realization of BPA-type ESG, and △ Advancement of customer-centered management system.
For the promotion tasks to innovate future port value, △ Achieving 23.5 million TEU container throughput, △ Timely establishment of smart port infrastructure, and △ Becoming a leading institution in port R&D were selected.
To strengthen port competitiveness, the main tasks include △ Improving port operation efficiency by integrating 4th Industrial Revolution technologies, △ Increasing volume and employment through high value-added port hinterland development, and △ Securing exclusive joint logistics centers for Korean companies in major overseas strategic regions.
To realize BPA-type ESG, BPA plans to actively promote △ Achieving 'ZERO' major accidents through the establishment of a safety management system, △ Environmental improvement through ESG management, △ Revitalization of the local economy and satisfaction at the public's level, and △ Activation of related industries for the co-prosperity and development of small and medium enterprises.
For advancing the customer-centered management system, the tasks selected are △ Revitalizing the local economy through the North Port redevelopment project, and △ Continuously achieving excellent customer satisfaction and integrity at the public's level.
