Hana Bank Signs Business Agreement to Establish 'Face Recognition-Based Service'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hana Bank announced on the 21st that it signed a business agreement to establish a strategic partnership for 'face authentication-based services' with Mesacure Company, Suprema, and Secuzen at its Euljiro headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 20th.
This agreement was made to build a system that allows the authentication services, which were mainly used online by Hana Bank and its partners, to be utilized offline. Through this agreement, Hana Bank and its partners agreed to collaborate in various fields such as developing new services using face authentication technology, technical cooperation, and marketing services based on face authentication technology.
Mesacure Company is a face recognition technology company in which Hana Bank has made a strategic investment. Suprema is an integrated security specialist company possessing core biometric technology. Secuzen is a specialized company in biometric authentication electronic signature technology and a technical support provider for the Korea Financial Telecommunications & Clearings Institute.

A Hana Bank official stated, "Once this system is established, various user management services such as access and unmanned payment will be possible offline through face authentication information registered with Hana Bank," adding, "Users will be able to use various services with a single face authentication, making face authentication services available anytime and anywhere in the future."
