Hampyeong County Mobilizes All Efforts for Resident Safety, Establishes 9 Task Forces to Formulate 'Comprehensive Lunar New Year Holiday Measures'
Maintaining a 24-Hour Emergency Duty System
[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong County has established a ‘Lunar New Year Holiday Comprehensive Plan’ to ensure the safety and comfort of its residents during the holiday.
According to the county on the 21st, the period from the 29th of this month to the 2nd of next month has been designated as the Lunar New Year holiday comprehensive plan period, during which comprehensive measures will be implemented in nine areas closely related to residents' daily life and safety, including COVID-19 prevention measures.
The county formed task forces for each sector led by the General Affairs Division and plans to operate a 24-hour comprehensive situation room with a total of 173 personnel mobilized during the holiday period.
In particular, this comprehensive plan was prepared with a focus on quarantine and accident prevention measures considering the recent rapid spread of COVID-19.
◆ Health and Safety Sector
First, to respond to COVID-19, an emergency quarantine task force will be organized within the public health center to maintain a 24-hour emergency duty system. Additionally, screening clinics will be installed and continuously operated at two locations: the public health center and Hampyeong Seongsim Hospital during the holiday period.
To prepare for emergency medical patients, Hampyeong Seongsim Hospital has been designated as the on-duty medical institution, and duty pharmacies have been assigned to minimize medical service gaps.
To prevent various disasters and safety accidents, facility management inspections will be conducted in various safety inspection areas such as fire and gas, and a quarantine situation room will be operated to prepare for livestock disease outbreaks such as AI, maintaining a 24-hour communication system.
◆ Transportation and Economy Sector
In preparation for the surge in transportation demand during the holiday, operating hours for rural buses will be extended, and detour road signs will be installed in sections expected to experience congestion to establish smooth traffic order.
Along with this, a price stabilization task force will be formed to investigate prices of essential goods and crack down on origin labeling violations of agricultural and livestock products, aiming to stabilize prices during the Lunar New Year and protect the livelihoods of ordinary citizens.
◆ Environment and Welfare Sector
To create a pleasant living environment, waste management measures will be established for the pre-, during-, and post-holiday stages, including a large-scale cleaning campaign and guidance and crackdown on illegal dumping.
In anticipation of a sudden increase in water usage during the holiday, major water supply facilities will be inspected in advance, and a situation room will be maintained to respond to sudden water supply accidents, minimizing inconvenience to residents.
Furthermore, visits and support will be provided to vulnerable groups such as elderly living alone, persons with disabilities, and social welfare facilities to ensure that no neighbors are left isolated during the Lunar New Year, addressing welfare blind spots.
