Jeonju City Extends 50% Reduction in Agricultural Machinery Rental Fees Until the End of June
18 Types and 61 Units Transportable by 1-Ton Vehicle
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonju City announced on the 20th that it will extend the project to reduce agricultural machinery rental fees by 50%, which was implemented from 2020 to last year, until June.
This is to support farmers who are experiencing the dual hardships of economic recession and labor shortages due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Accordingly, farmers can rent 165 units of 63 types of agricultural machinery owned by Jeonju City at a 50% discounted rate.
Farmers who wish to rent agricultural machinery can pre-register at the Agricultural Machinery Rental Office, then visit one of the following locations: the main office of Jangdong Agricultural Technology Division or the branch office inside the Moak Warehouse of Jeonju Nonghyup in Jungin-dong.
Rental is limited to one unit per farm household, and the rental period can be up to 3 days depending on the type of machinery.
Jeonju City will also continue to provide a delivery service that brings the agricultural machinery directly to the farming site for farms without transportation means to move the machinery, in order to enhance the convenience of using rental agricultural machinery.
Farmers who wish to use the transportation service can apply by phone or in person at least 3 days before the desired rental date, and a professional freight transport company will deliver the machinery to the requested location.
The transportation fee will be subsidized up to 80% of the Jeonju area transportation fee, with a maximum support of 80,000 KRW per round trip.
