[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The government announced that it held the 2022 Fiscal Management Symposium on the 20th to discuss measures to strengthen ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management in public institutions funded by the government.
Since 2018, the symposium has been an academic conference discussing fiscal investment directions and fiscal system improvements on major policy issues. This year's theme is "Mid- to Long-term Fiscal Investment Strategy for ESG in the Public Sector." It covers three topics: strengthening climate change response, restructuring regional balanced development, and reforming the fiscal project delivery system. Due to COVID-19 social distancing measures, only presenters and discussants attend offline. It can also be viewed via live streaming on the Korea Institute of Public Finance YouTube channel.
