KT Alpha's Social Contribution Activities for Seoul Group Home Children on Lunar New Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] KT Alpha announced on the 20th that it has launched regular sharing activities for children in group homes in Seoul ahead of the Lunar New Year.
Following the non-face-to-face online Songpyeon cooking class last Chuseok, this Lunar New Year, a total of 230 sets of ‘Yugwiyeol’s Emperor Galbisal,’ a representative holiday dish and a popular product on K Shopping, will be delivered to families with disabilities.
Since 2018, KT Alpha labor and management have been partnering with the KT Group Hope Sharing Foundation to support group homes through various cultural experiences, education, and emotional and economic assistance for five years. Group homes are communal living facilities where children and adolescents under the age of 18 who require protection and help due to difficulties in parental care or economic hardship live together.

Meanwhile, KT Alpha operates the Youth Hope Talent Scholarship program to support the independence of youths aging out of care. Last year, scholarships worth a total of 38 million KRW were awarded to 38 students. This year, the company plans to expand the program by providing various job experience opportunities, employment education, and self-development chances linked to the K Shopping business.
