Holiday Preparation Orders Increase by 15-20%... Steady Growth in Gift Giving Too
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheolhyun] Backpacker, the operator of 'Idius' (CEO Kim Donghwan), announced on the 19th that it will hold an event offering discounts of up to 85% on various handmade foods and crafts, including agricultural, livestock, and marine products, ahead of the Lunar New Year.
Currently, the proportion of customers preparing holiday gifts on Idius has increased by 15-20% compared to last Lunar New Year and Chuseok periods, with transactions occurring at a similar level to the monthly transaction amount of over 20 billion KRW achieved at the end of last year. Additionally, the 'Gift Sending' service, which allows users to send gifts by simply entering the recipient's mobile phone number, is steadily increasing by more than 10%.
At present, handmade foods account for more than 40% of Lunar New Year gifts, followed by home living products and digital/stationery items, each gaining popularity at 20% and 15%, respectively.
Accordingly, Idius is conducting a 'Lunar New Year Gift Discount Event' offering up to 85% off on a carefully selected 1,150 types of themed Lunar New Year gifts. The event features about 30 diverse categories tailored to the recipient's age group, including various handicrafts, handmade foods, traditional liquors, agricultural, livestock, and marine products, beauty items, accessories, and unique handmade gifts.
In particular, Idius is running promotions through the Lunar New Year holiday period, including premium agricultural, livestock, and marine products delivered directly from production sites, handmade dishes to assist with holiday table settings, special lucky money envelope exhibitions, gift collections under 50,000 KRW, and tableware discount events.
