Participation of Large Corporations and Investment Firms for Win-Win Cooperation
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The '2022 Sobujang Insight Conference,' where you can learn about investment attraction and business growth know-how of material, parts, and equipment (Sobujang) startup companies, will be held on the 21st.
The Creative Economy Innovation Centers located in Gyeongbuk, Seoul, and Ulsan announced that they will hold the Sobujang Insight Conference online from 1 PM to 5 PM on the 21st.
This conference was prepared to share the business of Sobujang startup companies and to understand industry trends and the latest developments, marking the third year of the Sobujang Startup 100 project. It is expected to be an opportunity for win-win cooperation between large companies and investors in the Sobujang field and startup companies.
In the first part of the event, lectures will be given on ▲ LG Innotek's Sobujang investment areas and cooperation models ▲ L'Or?al's Sobujang open innovation ▲ Hyundai Motor Group's open innovation and Sobujang startup collaboration cases ▲ POSCO Technology Investment VC's perspective on Sobujang startups. Following this, a talk concert will discuss 'Exploring startup investment attraction and demand discovery' with Sobujang demand companies and investors.
In the second part, success stories of Sobujang Startup 100 selected companies nurtured by the Gyeongbuk, Seoul, and Ulsan Innovation Centers will be shared. Presentations will be given by Cheon Sang-wook, CEO of BTEL Advanced Materials; Lee Jae-bok, CEO of Irangtec; Hong Jeong-gi, CEO of Innocean Tech; Park Jonjunho, CEO of Crimo; and Kim Yong-hwan, CEO of Smart Radar System, each for 15 minutes.
As senior Sobujang startups, they will provide business guidance and business growth know-how for (prospective) startup companies interested in composite materials, smart engineering, Internet of Things (IoT), and eco-friendly fields. The Sobujang Insight Conference accepts pre-registration online until the 19th on a first-come, first-served basis for up to 100 people.
Meanwhile, Sobujang Startup 100 is a project aimed at discovering and nurturing innovative startups that can respond to the demand for materials and parts from large and medium-sized enterprises and enhance technological independence in the material, parts, and equipment industry.

Starting from the first year in 2020, 20 companies are nurtured annually, supporting up to 200 million KRW in commercialization funds and providing customized programs such as education and mentoring according to technological capabilities. The Gyeongbuk, Seoul, and Ulsan Innovation Centers have been selected as the organizing institutions for three consecutive years, supporting Sobujang startup companies.
