Actively responding to related laws such as the Balanced Development Special Act and the Special Act on Population Declining Areas, following the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s announcement on population decline areas, as well as cross-ministerial support measures.

Investment plans tailored to local conditions in sectors such as jobs, education, culture, and infrastructure will be discovered to simultaneously solve regional vitality and population issues.

As an excellent case of attracting companies, Gurye Natural Dream Park, which has received nationwide attention, will be designated as an additional investment leading zone to create a healing cluster and develop it into a large-scale industrial complex.

On the 5th, plans include improving market facilities and creating the Alkkong Dalkong Market to invigorate the residents’ daily economy.

Various youth policies to create a young Gurye will be continuously promoted, and public jobs will be expanded to increase the economically active population ratio in the aging society.

Promoting regional development projects centered on Jirisan Mountain and Seomjin River to establish the nation’s top healing and therapeutic stay-type resort.

Building metaverse content in line with rapidly changing digital technology and environment, creating an integrated tourism belt along the Seomjin River with three neighboring cities and counties, and developing Jirisan Garden as a theme park.

Additionally, the creation of a habitat for Asiatic black bears and the Blue Tour project are expected to drastically improve the exploration system around Hwaeomsa Temple.

In particular, the Gurye-eup area will improve urban functions and residential conditions through urban regeneration, 5-day market environment improvement, and plaza creation projects, and develop cultural tourism products that external visitors can enjoy together, such as establishing the Gurye Tourism Office and the “That Day” Archive.

In agriculture, supporting facilities and technologies for producing high-quality eco-friendly agricultural products in line with government policies.

Plans include creating an eco-friendly organic farming complex town to serve as a base facility for organic agricultural product production, processing, and sales. Furthermore, various income crops will be actively supported to increase the actual income of small-scale farms.

As a premium city for return-to-farming and return-to-village, continuous population inflow will be promoted through various projects such as agricultural management and settlement support.

In education, operating regional resource-linked programs based on public-private-academic governance.

Supporting school education through innovative education district operation and the operation of the newly built Gurye Dormitory to nurture local talents, and expanding the base for lifelong learning through village education communities and future-oriented educational autonomy cooperation districts.

Checking welfare safety net policies to prevent blind spots for vulnerable groups such as the elderly, disabled, and low-income families.

Continuing the implementation of small but certain happiness policies such as the Happy Home Project, leisure programs, and oriental medicine treatment at health centers, and building the Happy Family Complex Center and Wellness Complex Center to serve as base facilities for family-tailored services and cultural programs.
