Muan-gun Reports 35 Confirmed Cases on the 16th, 'High Alert'

View original image[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] On the 16th, 35 COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do, marking the second highest number of cases reported in a single day, prompting emergency measures from health authorities.
According to Muan-gun on the 17th, among the 35 cases confirmed that day, 7 individuals (Muan cases 445 to 451) tested positive through mandatory diagnostic testing ordered by Jeollanam-do administrative orders, conducted in vulnerable facilities such as nursing homes.
Cases Muan 452 to 455, 460, 464, and 479 were confirmed positive while under self-quarantine.
Fourteen individuals, including Muan cases 458 to 459, 462, 465 to 469, and 474 to 478, tested positive after contact with confirmed cases in Muan-gun and neighboring cities/counties.
Muan cases 470 to 471 and 473 were confirmed positive through proactive testing, while cases 456 to 457, 461, and 463 were confirmed after visiting other regions.
The breakdown is 14 cases from contact with confirmed patients, 14 from self-quarantine, 3 from proactive testing, 3 symptomatic cases, and 1 case from visiting another region.
So far, Muan has reported 479 confirmed cases, including 468 local transmissions and 11 imported cases. Currently, 150 patients are undergoing treatment, with 79 hospitalized and 71 receiving home care.
Meanwhile, Mokpo City reported 61 confirmed cases on the 16th. Among them, 19 were under self-quarantine, 18 had contact with confirmed cases, 12 were symptomatic, 5 asymptomatic, and 7 had visited other regions.
