Video of Performance Set Against Our Cultural Heritage, Screened on Large Display
The group BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) will have videos of their performances set against Korean cultural heritage sites showcased at the Dubai Expo in the United Arab Emirates. On the 16th, the Cultural Heritage Administration and the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation announced that during "Korea Week (16th-20th)," a large screen will be installed in the courtyard of the Korean Pavilion to screen two BTS videos. These include the "Dynamite" video filmed in front of Gyeongbokgung Palace and the "Permission to Dance" performance in front of Sungnyemun Gate. A representative from the Cultural Heritage Administration said, "We hope this will serve as a catalyst to increase interest in Korean culture."
The Expo, one of the world's three major mega events, is an international fair where many countries participate to jointly exhibit industrial products and arts and crafts. It is held every five years under the International Exhibition Convention. This time, under the theme "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future," 191 countries are participating. The Korean Pavilion, the fifth largest in scale, has already welcomed over 500,000 visitors. The Cultural Heritage Administration and the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation have been conducting various events to effectively promote Korean cultural heritage. These include LED video exhibitions showcasing the beauty of cultural heritage, the four seasons, and Najeonchilgi (mother-of-pearl lacquerware), as well as augmented reality (AR) experiences.

During "Korea Week," about 700 visitors will receive traditional crafts such as bokjumeoni (lucky pouches) to introduce Korean New Year customs. Visitors participating in an Instagram event will also be gifted scarves engraved with royal bojagi (wrapping cloth) patterns. A Cultural Heritage Administration official stated, "Through visual exposure, we aim to simultaneously attract visitors and promote traditional patterns." The two organizations will also hold performances combining Korean music and samulnori (traditional percussion quartet) with digital technology under the theme "Massive Vibe" ten times daily. They plan to attract visitors by concurrently hosting a Korean product exhibition, a Korean tourism fair, and special performances.
