Court Holds Hearing on Injunction to Ban Broadcast of 'Kim Geon-hee's 7-Hour Call'... Decision Expected as Early as This Afternoon
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] The release of the 7-hour-long recorded phone conversation of Kim Gun-hee, spouse of Yoon Seok-yeol, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, is expected to be announced as early as this afternoon (the 14th) or tomorrow.
According to the court on the 14th, the Seoul Western District Court Civil Division 21 (Chief Presiding Judge Park Byung-tae) will hold a hearing at 11 a.m. on the same day regarding Kim's request for a broadcast injunction against MBC. A court official stated, "It is difficult to predict whether the injunction decision will be made on the day of the hearing, as it depends on various factors such as the circumstances of the presiding court and the seriousness of the case."
According to the People Power Party, Kim had 10 to 15 phone calls with Mr. A, who was in charge of filming for the YouTube channel 'Seoul's Voice,' from July to early December last year. MBC reportedly received the recorded files of these calls from Mr. A and is preparing to broadcast them on a current affairs program on the 16th of this month.
