View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] It was announced on the 13th by the People Power Party that Kim Hyun-chul, the second son of the late former President Kim Young-sam and a distinguished professor at Dongguk University Graduate School of Media and Communication, has joined the election campaign headquarters of Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, as a special advisor to the candidate.
Professor Kim supported candidate Moon Jae-in in the 2012 and 2017 presidential elections, and in 2017, he also joined the Democratic Party of Korea.
However, in January 2019, he announced his departure from the Democratic Party, criticizing the Moon Jae-in administration's North Korea policy, job policy, and energy policy.
