Jeonnam Fire Department Conducts On-Site Winter Water Rescue Training
Promoting Early Disaster Response Capability Development
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Kim Joil) announced on the 13th that it conducted the 2022 Winter Water Rescue On-site Adaptation Training on the 12th in the Jirisan area (Namwon-si, Jeonbuk).
This training was conducted to cultivate the initial disaster response capability by having rescue team members adapt to special environments such as closed spaces under ice and cold water in preparation for winter and thaw season water accidents.
The main contents included ▲ ice rescue and diving procedure training ▲ on-site adaptation and safety assurance training for special environments under ice ▲ underwater investigation methods, communication, emergency escape, and search and rescue training.
Director Moon Samho of the Special Rescue Unit and the rescue team members, who participated in the training in subzero weather, took this opportunity to further enhance their response capabilities for winter water accidents.
