Mokpo City to Conduct Intensive COVID-19 Testing on the 13th and 14th
Operation of Inspection Stations at Dong Administrative Welfare Center Parking Lots
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] Mokpo City, Jeollanam-do announced on the 13th that it will begin intensive testing to block the spread of COVID-19.
The city will operate testing sites on the 13th from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM at the parking lots of administrative welfare centers in Yongdang 1·2-dong, Yeondong, Sanjeong-dong, Yeonsan-dong, Wonsan-dong, Daeseong-dong, Dongmyeong-dong, Okam-dong, Buheung-dong, and Buju-dong.
Mokwon-dong will operate at Namgyo Parking Lot, and Samhak-dong at Samhak Elementary School playground. Additionally, existing testing sites such as Mokpo City Health Center and Peace Plaza will operate as usual.
The city will prioritize testing for ▲symptomatic individuals ▲those who have visited other regions or contacted residents from other regions ▲workers in vulnerable facilities ▲group living residents, etc. Citizens who wish to be tested can also receive testing.
Testing will be conducted regardless of the resident registration address, so individuals can visit the nearest administrative welfare center testing site regardless of their jurisdictional dong or address in other regions.
The testing sites will operate with reception booths and specimen collection booths. The city plans to deploy a total of 260 public officials as reception booth staff over two days to ensure smooth and safe diagnostic testing.
A city official emphasized, “We ask for the active participation of citizens in testing and to refrain from going out or moving except for testing purposes.”

Meanwhile, on the 14th, testing sites will be operated at the parking lots of administrative welfare centers in Manho-dong, Yudal-dong, Jukgyo-dong, Bukhang-dong, Yonghae-dong, Hadang-dong, Sinheung-dong, Samhyang-dong, Okam-dong, Buheung-dong, and Buju-dong. Irodong will operate at the front gate of the administrative welfare center, and Sang-dong at Hangdo Girls' Middle School parking lot.
