Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Secures Marine Plant Order Worth 650 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering recently announced on the 11th that it succeeded in securing an offshore plant order worth 656.1 billion KRW from the US company Chevron.
The equipment ordered this time is a gas field control facility that supplies power to the currently operating deep-sea equipment and can control the gas field. It is being constructed at the Okpo Shipyard in Geoje, Gyeongnam, and is scheduled to be deployed to the Janssayo gas field about 135 km from Barrow Island, Western Australia, by the third quarter of 2025.
This gas field supplies gas to the Gorgon LNG plant operated by Chevron in Australia.

A Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering official said, "This is the first time since 2014 that we have succeeded in securing offshore plant orders for two consecutive years," adding, "Our offshore plant construction experience and technological capabilities have been recognized."
