[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] The Democratic Party of Korea approved the merger with the Open Democratic Party on the 10th.
On this day, the Democratic Party announced that the merger with the Open Democratic Party was approved with 83.69% (221,979 votes) in favor and 16.31% (43,275 votes) against, based on an online vote conducted over four days from the 7th until 6 PM on the 10th for party members residing domestically and abroad. Out of a total of 831,434 members, 265,254 voted, resulting in a turnout rate of 31.90%.
The Open Democratic Party approved the merger with the Democratic Party with a 72.54% approval rate in a two-day vote held on the 29th and 30th of last month.
