Yongin City Provides Up to 600,000 KRW Support for Low-NOx Boiler Replacement Households
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province will support boiler installation costs for households that replace their boilers with low-NOx boilers for home use.
Low-NOx boilers reduce nitrogen oxide emission concentrations by 88% compared to regular boilers and increase energy efficiency by 92%.
The principle is to add small flames to the burner’s flame to minimize gas leakage. Products certified with the environmental label by the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute are eligible for this support.
The support scale is 5,880 units for general households and 20 units for low-income households, totaling 5,900 units. For replacements made with low-NOx boilers after January 1 of this year, general households will receive a subsidy of 100,000 KRW, and low-income households will receive 600,000 KRW.
Yongin City will accept applications starting from the 10th on a first-come, first-served basis until the budget is exhausted.
Applicants can download the application form from the city’s website announcement, fill it out, and submit it in person or by mail to the Climate Energy Division. Applications through boiler dealerships are also possible.
