[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) held a progress report meeting on the 5th to thoroughly review the shortcomings and areas for improvement in the implementation of major pledged projects promised to residents, aiming to carry out these projects without delay as the new year begins.
Despite the adverse conditions caused by COVID-19, the 7th term Gwanak-gu pledged projects have achieved a 93.9% implementation rate, accelerating toward completion.
Out of a total of 72 action tasks, 33 projects have been completed ahead of schedule, 38 projects are progressing normally, and 1 project is facing difficulties due to internal and external changes, with efforts being made to ensure thorough pledge fulfillment through proactive administration.
With innovation, communication, and cooperation as core principles, Gwanak-gu has been steadily achieving 72 pledged action tasks under six major goals?Together Economy, Together Welfare, Prime Education & Culture, Prime Transportation, Clean Living Environment, and Innovative Gwanak Office?over the past three and a half years to realize the vision of “Together, the Best Gwanak-gu.”
First, through the “Gwanak S-Valley Development” project, 13 startup support facilities including the Nakseong Venture Startup Center headquarters and R&D center have been established, serving as a hub for the venture valley, with 112 startup companies residing and developing their capabilities.
Additionally, by creating startup support funds, revitalizing private investment, and operating various startup support programs, Gwanak is improving its economic structure for the “Together Economy.”
In the “Together Welfare” sector, meaningful achievements were made by being designated a women-friendly city and obtaining UNICEF Child-Friendly City certification. Furthermore, 13 public daycare centers were expanded, achieving the target of 50% utilization of public daycare centers.
Moreover, the construction of the “Gwanak Family Happiness Center,” equipped with a play experience center, toy and infant library, and village media center, has been completed.
The 7th term “Gang Gam-chan Festival” has established itself as a representative historical and cultural festival of Korea, with Gang Gam-chan Boulevard designated as an honorary road and Nakseongdae Station co-named Gang Gam-chan Station, building the city brand of “Gang Gam-chan City Gwanak.”
The “Sillim Line” light rail is currently 96% complete, aiming for opening in May 2022. The “Seobu Line” is being extended to the front gate of Seoul National University, and early construction is planned for the “Nangok Line” light rail, which has been converted to a financial project, marking a revolutionary turning point in improving the long-awaited transportation environment for Gwanak residents and realizing “Prime Transportation” Gwanak as a central hub with excellent connectivity.
To provide green healing spaces for communication and sharing, Gwanaksan Prime Park, Dorimcheon special projects, Together Urban Agriculture Park, and Gwanaksan Adventure Forest have been created, linking Gwanaksan Mountain and Dorimcheon Stream to establish a clean and safe “Clean Living Environment” Gwanak.
In particular, the implementation rate of the “Innovative Gwanak Office” sector, which emphasizes communication and innovative administration, is 97.6%, the highest among the six major goals, expanding the scope and depth of resident participation and leading to the activation of public-private cooperation governance.
