Promise of Collaboration Between Educational Autonomy and General Autonomy for the Future Education of Children and Adolescents
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) and Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Cho Hee-yeon) pledged on the 7th to promote five future education agendas to support the happy growth of children and adolescents in Seongbuk-gu.
The 'Seongbuk-gu Future Education Agreement Ceremony,' held online, was attended by Seongbuk-gu Mayor Lee Seung-ro, Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Superintendent Cho Hee-yeon, Education Director Choi Kyu-ae, and officials in charge of the Innovative Education District. The entire online agreement process was live-streamed on YouTube.
This agreement aims to promise collaboration between Seongbuk-gu Office and Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education for future education of children and adolescents, including ▲supporting the leap to Season 2 of the Seoul-type Innovative Education District ▲activating ecological transition education for a sustainable Earth ▲promoting youth participation in village education activities and strengthening village-school solidarity as well as opening school idle spaces ▲enhancing operation of various discussion forums between schools and villages ▲and jointly striving to spread cultural, artistic, and physical education.

At the agreement ceremony, Mayor Lee Seung-ro stated, “We will support children and adolescents in Seongbuk-gu to grow properly through learning that transcends schools and villages,” adding, “We will actively cooperate in future education linked with village communities reflecting Seongbuk-gu’s unique regional characteristics and do our best to ensure vigorous activities continue.” He expressed his commitment not to spare administrative support for the happy growth of children and adolescents in Seongbuk-gu.
