As of the 2nd, these are cases showing adverse reactions after receiving the vaccine. Among them, 15,525 cases are severe adverse reactions, and the number of deaths reaches 1,178.
This is statistical data released by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, and the causality between the vaccine and adverse reactions has not been proven. Only 2 cases have been recognized as causally related to vaccine-related deaths.
This is the main reason why citizens opposing the 'quarantine pass,' which effectively forces vaccination, criticize it as 'Corona fascism.'
On the afternoon of the 8th, at the 5·18 Democracy Square in Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, citizens with similar thoughts gathered at the 'Anti-Vaccine Pass Rally' hosted by the Vaccine Rights Action Gwangju-Jeonnam Headquarters on the 8th.
Most attendees were students and parents, who unanimously said they gathered to regain 'freedom.'
Before the rally started, the speaker played the song "I am a Butterfly" by Yoon Do-hyun Band. The lyrics, "I will spread my wings wide and fly freely in the world," seemed to fully convey their feelings.
The rally began with a keynote speech by Kim Dae-jung, the regional headquarters chief. It is said that Kim expressed dissatisfaction with the vaccine pass policy by even shaving his head during a previous campaign.
On this day, he criticized, "Just because I did not get vaccinated, I cannot go to places like tea houses or restaurants," and said, "The quarantine pass is a clear violation of human rights."
Hong Ae-jin, the head of the organization department, said, "Public opinion is changing a lot now, and I hope people confidently express their (anti-vaccine pass) opinions to many others."
Following this, speeches by group members continued.
Kim Hyun-jin said, "Only two people have been recognized as having causality with vaccine side effects," and added, "Deaths and side effects from vaccines are increasing, but the government is trying to forcibly inject poison."
She frowned and said, "There are people around me who died after vaccination, and many are sick."
Jo In-young stated, "Things contrary to democratic countries are happening," and said, "I came here to inform about the wrong aspects of the quasi-mandatory vaccine policy."
Attendees handed out the 'Vaccine Rights Newspaper' published by the group to citizens and introduced an article containing the opinion of Professor Son Hyun-joon from the College of Medicine at Chungbuk National University, concluding the rally.
Professor Son explained, "COVID-19 is a highly contagious cold," and said, "Most people under 59 are asymptomatic or show mild cold symptoms, with a lower fatality rate than the common cold and less likelihood of bedridden illness than seasonal flu."
Therefore, he pointed out, "Although the response should be from a geriatric medical perspective focusing on protecting elderly people over 70 and those with underlying diseases who have a high fatality rate, the quarantine pass continues regulations without preparing for 'With Corona,' forcing vaccination even on children."

Meanwhile, the quarantine pass is a kind of certificate proving completion of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test result. Since December 13 last year, it must be presented at 16 types of facilities such as restaurants and cafes. From the 3rd of this month, a validity period was introduced, requiring those who completed the basic vaccination to receive an additional dose after six months.
