[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Se-ryeong] The Gyeongnam Office of Education announced the successful candidates by school district for the 2022 academic year standardized regional general high schools on January 7th at 10 a.m. through its website.
The standardized regions in Gyeongnam consist of a total of 5 school districts and 62 schools. Out of 12,240 recruitment spots, 12,443 applicants applied within the quota, and 29 applicants, including children of national merit recipients and special admission candidates, applied outside the quota, resulting in a total of 12,177 successful candidates.
Application submission and school assignment for the standardized regional admission process are conducted through the NAIS high school admission program, and all procedures are reviewed by the High School Admission Lottery Management Committee to ensure transparency and fairness.
Assignment to standardized regional high schools is done by dividing successful candidates by gender into 9 grades, then conducting computer random lotteries and assignments from the 1st to the 3rd round according to the order of preference and the quota for each grade per school.
From the 4th round of lottery, schools with unfilled quotas conduct another random lottery and assignment regardless of grade, based on the order of preferred schools, and assigned schools cannot be changed.
The results will be announced on the Gyeongnam Office of Education website at 10 a.m. on the 14th, and on the 17th, candidates must visit their assigned schools to receive enrollment guidance and complete registration by the 19th.
