In an interview with KBS News 9 on the 6th, Ahn said, "Whether or not we negotiate (unification) there is another matter. We could just meet, have a meal, and part ways," indicating this. Speculation arises that there might be a subtle change in Ahn’s stance, who had previously insisted that "there will be no unification."
Pointing to a KBS poll graph showing that 55% of respondents supporting him answered that "unification is necessary," Ahn said, "On the People Power Party side, there were actually many opinions that unification should happen," adding, "In fact, it is all the choice of the people."
He continued, "It is right to give the people the choice and comprehensively evaluate who among the candidates is morally unblemished, has no family issues, has a clear vision, possesses a global perspective on worldwide trends, and has the professional capability to actually solve these problems," emphasizing this point.
When asked whether regime change or running as a candidate before the people is the priority, Ahn said, "My priority is to achieve regime change."

Regarding Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea’s pledge to apply health insurance to hair loss treatment, Ahn criticized, "It is too populist an approach," pointing out, "The problem is that the health insurance finances are worsening more and more." He then proposed lowering the price of generic hair loss drugs as an alternative.
