Gwangju City Provides 50% Wage Support for Small Business Owners Hiring New Young Employees
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Metropolitan City will support 50% of the wages for newly hired youth workers for six months, targeting small business owners struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Gwangju City on the 6th, eligible participants are small business owners who hire unemployed youth aged 19 to 39 residing in Gwangju as of the announcement date (7th).
The supported industries include retail, wholesale, food service, lodging, and service industries with fewer than five regular employees, as well as mining, manufacturing, construction, and transportation industries with fewer than ten regular employees. During the support period, the number of employees must be maintained without reduction.
Applications can be submitted starting from the 7th through the Gwangju Economic and Employment Promotion Agency website or by visiting the Small Business Support Department on the 3rd floor of the Gwangju Economic and Employment Promotion Agency.
