Jeju Dream Tower Casino Turns First Profit Six Months After Opening
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] The casino operated by Jeju Dream Tower Complex Resort has turned a profit for the first time in six months since its opening.
Lotte Tour Development announced on the 6th that the sales of the three sectors?casino, hotel, and retail?of Jeju Dream Tower Complex Resort exceeded 20 billion KRW for the first time in December last year. The casino recorded its highest sales last month with 8.13 billion KRW. Among this, the Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) was 1.48 billion KRW, marking the first profit turnaround since its opening in June last year.
Lawrence Teo, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the casino division, said, “Word of mouth about the integrated resort equipped with international-level latest gaming facilities and hotel amenities in a world-class tourist destination has steadily increased visits from VIP customers,” adding, “We are making thorough preparations for casino operations in anticipation of the With-Corona era.”
