BTS 'BTS, THE BEST' Surpasses 1 Million Cumulative Sales on Japan's Oricon Chart
The group BTS's best album released in Japan, 'BTS, THE BEST,' has surpassed 1 million cumulative sales on the Oricon weekly ranking.
According to the latest 'Weekly Album Ranking' chart (January 10) announced by Oricon on the 6th, 'BTS, THE BEST,' released in June last year, sold 3,000 copies during the chart aggregation period. The cumulative sales amount to 1,002,000 copies. BTS became the fourteenth overseas artist to achieve 'million' sales on Oricon's 'Weekly Album Ranking.'
Oricon stated, "It has been 17 years and 9 months since a foreign male artist recorded cumulative album sales of 1 million copies, the last being the band Queen in 2004."
BTS topped the 'Weekly Album Ranking' on June 28, 2021, immediately after the release of 'BTS, THE BEST,' recording first-week sales of 782,000 copies, the highest ever for an overseas male artist.

'BTS, THE BEST' is a compilation album that includes singles and album tracks released by BTS in Japan over four years since 2017. It features a total of 23 songs, including the Japanese original track 'Film out' and 'Dynamite,' which holds the record for the shortest time to reach 400 million cumulative streams on Oricon's 'Weekly Streaming Ranking' (August 16, 2021).
