The consumption coupon support limit to reduce purchasing burdens will be increased from 10,000 won to 20,000 won per person.
On the 13th, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced the Lunar New Year essential goods supply stabilization measures. Earlier, to proactively manage prices during the Lunar New Year, the government has been operating a joint task force with related agencies since December 14 last year, four weeks earlier than usual.
First, during the Lunar New Year period from the 10th to the 28th, the supply of the top 10 essential goods will be increased by an average of 1.4 times compared to normal times. The top 10 essential goods are napa cabbage, radish, apple, pear, chestnut, jujube, beef, pork, chicken, and eggs.
In terms of supply volume, this is the highest ever, about 41% more than the usual 95,000 tons, reaching approximately 134,000 tons. By category, agricultural products will be doubled, livestock products increased by 1.3 times, and forest products by 1.6 times.
Along with this, a consumption coupon discount event (20-30% discount) involving over 2,000 distribution networks nationwide will be held, and the discount coupon limit for agricultural and livestock products during the Lunar New Year peak season will be expanded from 10,000 won to 20,000 won per person. The related budget is a total of 39 billion won this year, with 15 billion won concentrated by the Lunar New Year.
