On the 5th, Park Min-woo, chief judge in charge of warrants at the Gwangju District Court, issued arrest warrants for Kang Mo and Jung Mo, who are accused of violating the Political Funds Act, citing concerns over evidence tampering.
They are accused of improperly spending political funds and distributing Red Ginseng holiday gifts worth approximately 140 million won to constituents ahead of the 2018 local elections.
Among them, Jung is reported to have been a key figure in Mayor Kang's campaign during the local elections.
