According to the legal community on the 5th, the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office recently indicted Councilor Gi on charges of obstruction of official duties by deception.
Councilor Gi is accused of helping a specific company secure 10 private contracts (worth about 90 million KRW) from 2018 until last year.
The company is known to have been where Councilor Gi previously worked and is currently operated by an acquaintance.
It is reported that Councilor Gi used a 60 million KRW "comprehensive project fund" allocated for his personal share to secure various projects.
