Meeting Successive Former Party Members and Independents... Acting as a Bridge for Rejoining the Democratic Party
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Kim Gwan-young, Chairman of the National Integration Committee of the Democratic Party's Presidential Election Committee, is making extensive efforts for national integration in the Jeonbuk region to secure the victory of candidate Lee Jae-myung in the presidential election.
He is taking a decisive role in bridging the return of those who left the Democratic Party and independent figures by meeting them consecutively.
On the 4th, Chairman Kim arranged a press conference at the Jeonbuk Provincial Council where about 10 current and former heads of organizations and metropolitan council members applied for reinstatement to the party.
Politicians who declared their return to the Democratic Party at the press conference include former Wanju County Governor Lim Jeong-yeop, current Jeonbuk Provincial Council member Park Yong-geun, former provincial council members Jo Hyeong-cheol, Park Jae-wan, Jo Gye-cheol, Lee Hak-su, Kim Jong-dam, Lee Seong-il, and Ko Sang-jin, former chairman of the Minsaeng Party Jeonbuk Provincial Party Committee.
On the 5th, Chairman Kim also held a meeting with Lee Don-seung, Chairman of the Wanju Education Governance Committee, and former provincial council member Yang Seong-bin, exchanging opinions on joining the Democratic Party and winning the presidential election.
Among them, Chairman Lee Don-seung applied for reinstatement to the Democratic Party's central party on the same day.
Prior to this, it is reported that Chairman Lee visited the Wanju County Council and encouraged 3 to 4 council members who had left the party to return.
Chairman Kim's extensive efforts are expected to have a considerable impact on uniting the previously divided democratic reform forces in the Jeonbuk region, thereby generating overwhelming support for Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung in the upcoming March presidential election.
Kim Gwan-young said, "In a closely contested presidential election, national integration is essential to achieve fair growth in this era of great transformation and to dramatically develop the underdeveloped Jeonbuk Province through victory. I will continue to do my best to encourage more participation from the democratic reform forces in the province."
