Seoul City Reports 1,045 Confirmed Cases by 6 PM, 275 More Than Yesterday
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that the number of new COVID-19 cases in Seoul was tentatively counted at 1,045 over 18 hours from midnight to 6 p.m. on the 4th.
Compared to the same time frame, this is 275 more than the 770 cases on the previous day (3rd) and 237 fewer than the 1,282 cases a week ago (December 28). The total number of cases for the entire day was 938 on the 3rd and 1,915 on the 28th of last month.
The daily number of cases in Seoul exceeded 2,000 for the first time on November 30 last year (2,222 cases), then reached a record high of 3,165 cases on December 14, marking the first time it surpassed 3,000. Since then, the numbers generally declined, maintaining the 1,000 range for eight days from December 25 to January 1 this year, before dropping to the 900 range on the 2nd. It was the first time in 48 days that the number of new cases in Seoul fell below 1,000.
