According to the legal community on the 4th, Judge Shin Se-a of the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Division 27 issued a summary order fining Chef A 15 million KRW in June last year for a summary indictment on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving). A summary order is a procedure where the court issues a sentence based on document review without the defendant's appearance in response to the prosecution's request for a fine.
Mr. A was accused of driving under the influence on a road in Jung-gu, Seoul, in May last year. At that time, Mr. A's blood alcohol concentration was 0.167%, well above the license cancellation standard (0.08%). It was confirmed that he had a prior record of being caught for drunk driving in 2009 as well.
