Gangwon-do, Livestock Products 'Illegal Distribution and Hygiene Inspection' Ahead of Seollal Holiday
1.5~14 Livestock Product Processing and Meat Packaging Businesses: Targeting 200 Locations
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gangwon Province is launching inspections to ensure the hygiene and safety of livestock products and to block the distribution of fraudulent and substandard livestock products in preparation for the upcoming Seol holiday.
According to the province on the 4th, from the 5th to the 14th, hygiene inspections and monitoring activities will be conducted targeting 200 locations, including businesses that have received administrative sanctions in the past three years and newly licensed businesses last year, out of 3,739 livestock product processing sites within the province.
The main inspection items include ▲ hygiene handling and compliance with refrigeration and freezing standards during the transportation of meat and other livestock products ▲ health checkups for temporary employees hired during peak seasons ▲ compliance with hygiene management standards and the preparation and operation of internal hygiene management manuals.
The province plans to take measures such as business suspension and license revocation according to relevant regulations for serious violations or intentional illegal acts.
