People Power Party Gwangju Election Committee Visits 5·18 Cemetery, Pledges 'Victory in Presidential Election'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The People Power Party's Gwangju Metropolitan City Election Countermeasures Committee paid respects at the National 5·18 Democratic Cemetery in Unjeong-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju on the 4th and pledged victory in the presidential election.
The visit to the National 5·18 Democratic Cemetery, which also served as a New Year's greeting meeting, was attended by about 40 people including Song Giseok, the overall election committee chairman of the People Power Party's Gwangju City election committee, co-chairmen, headquarters chiefs, and university students, who resolved to secure the victory of candidate Yoon Seok-yeol in the presidential election.
After paying respects, the People Power Party's Gwangju City election committee visited the graves of the unnamed martyrs in the 5·18 cemetery and promised to do their best to identify the remaining four unnamed 5·18 martyrs and return them to their families.
Chairman Song emphasized, "We will add fairness and justice to the democracy, human rights, and peace created by Gwangju," and said, "Candidate Yoon Seok-yeol visited Gwangju on December 23 last year to dispel the 'Honam neglect theory' and promised to actively invest in future industries in the Honam region. We will make Gwangju the center of future industries such as artificial intelligence (AI)."
