RFsemi Installs 222nm UVC Lamps at Gunsan City Health Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] RF Semi, a semiconductor device specialist company, is launching full-scale business by installing Far UVC lighting that kills viruses but is harmless to the human body at the Gunsan City Health Center.
On the 4th, RF Semi announced that it has completed KC radio certification, photobiological safety, and ozone emission tests for the ceiling-mounted 222nm (nanometer) Far UVC lamps and has started domestic sales.
KC radio certification is a mandatory certification for selling electronic products manufactured in Korea.
The RF Semi 222nm UVC lamp has a short wavelength with high sterilization power and is harmless to the human body. It can be easily installed anywhere by applying a ceiling-mounted fixture, can be used for up to 3,000 hours with 10W power, and usage time can be checked and controlled through a smartphone app.
The company stated that it commissioned the global certification body Germany TUV Rheinland to conduct a 'photobiological safety' test to evaluate the effects of light emitted at 222nm on human eyes and skin, and received the highest indoor installation standard rating RG0 (exempt from risk), confirming its safety.
Also, at the Korea Conformity Laboratories (KCL), the ozone emission verification test confirmed that the ozone emission was 0.01ppm, which is less than one-fifth of the standard (ozone emission allowable standard 0.05ppm).
RF Semi proved harmlessness and safety to the human body through this KC radio certification acquisition and verification tests, and will begin full-scale sales to prevent the spread of COVID-19 domestically and overseas, starting with mass production of 222nm Far UVC lighting.
Installation was completed on December 28 last year at the screening clinic and vaccination room inside the Gunsan City Health Center, and the business will be expanded to local governments nationwide.
For overseas sales, UL certification and CE certification are in progress, and through the U.S. sales company Ghenus Bio, related samples are being sent to the U.S., Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Spain, Chile, and other countries to target overseas markets.
