Jeon Ju-hye, the party floor spokesperson, said at a meeting with reporters after the People Power Party lawmakers' general meeting held at the National Assembly on the 3rd, "All members of the People Power Party will now step down from all party positions and serve as Baekui Jonggun solely for regime change," adding, "Each person will endure with the determination to guard the front line from their respective positions." He also emphasized, "From now on, we will make the flag of regime change wave vigorously for change and unity."
The spokesperson said, "We agreed on the policy of changing everything except the candidate by gathering all our strength solely to achieve regime change with candidate Yoon, and that the candidate should have full authority to lead the party and the election campaign committee," adding, "We deeply apologize to the public for the shameful appearances so far."
On the same day, floor leader Kim Ki-hyun and policy committee chairman Kim Do-eup expressed their intention to resign not only from their election campaign positions but also from party posts. Floor leader Kim emphasized his unlimited responsibility and did not waver in his intention to resign. The spokesperson said, "Many lawmakers tried to dissuade floor leader Kim from resigning, but he repeatedly expressed his desperate feelings that there must be someone who takes responsibility," adding, "Because his intention to resign is very strong, there will be no withdrawal of the resignation of the floor leadership."
