Namwon-si Opens School Shelter Created by Students... 85 Middle School Students Participate
[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-gwon] In Namwon City, Jeonbuk, a cozy "hideout" exclusively for students has been created at Inwol Middle School and Unbong Middle School, small schools located at the foot of Jirisan Mountain.
According to the city on the 3rd, this school shelter is the result of design meetings held from October to December last year and hands-on woodworking by all 46 students of Inwol Middle School and all 39 students of Unbong Middle School.
On December 31st last year, an opening ceremony for the shelter was held at Inwol Middle School.
The newly established shelter at Inwol Middle School was set up inside the old gymnasium in the form of a wooden small theater, featuring a small stage where students can watch movies sitting or lying down, and sometimes use it for specialized classes or club activities.
The school decided to gift a screen for the space prepared by the students.
This shelter creation project was carried out as part of the youth regional settlement project led by Namwon City (Mayor Lee Hwan-joo) and the Namwon Rural New Vitality Plus Promotion Team (Director Lim Young-ran).
Following the agenda derived from the "Creating Happy Schools, Community Problem-Solving Discussion" held at each school in October last year, a free and comfortable space like a cafe or lounge was prepared for unrestricted use.
The Unbong Middle School shelter was built in the empty space between the second-floor buildings on campus.
Utilizing the advantage of beautiful scenery coming through the glass windows, the space was arranged mainly with net hammocks as resting areas.
It is planned to be used as a team discussion space during class time, even outside of breaks.
