Ministry of Unification: "New Year, a Crucial Time to Set the Stage for Inter-Korean Development"

Lee Jong-joo, spokesperson for the Ministry of Unification, said at the regular briefing on the same day, "We will consistently strive for substantial progress in peace on the Korean Peninsula in 2022."
The spokesperson commented on North Korea's recent focus on economic and livelihood issues at the Workers' Party plenary meeting, saying, "We will work to promptly resume inter-Korean dialogue so that practical cooperation can advance in various fields, including the key issues presented at the plenary meeting."
Regarding the direction for promoting a New Year declaration of the end of the war, he reaffirmed, "The government's consistent position is to continue efforts to institutionalize the unfinished peace into sustainable peace."
