[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Heo Yeon-su, CEO (Vice Chairman) of GS Retail, declared a new vision on the 3rd to transform the company into a platform business that connects all customer experiences, empathizes through data, and earns trust through products and services.
At the new vision declaration ceremony of GS Retail held on the 25th floor of GS Tower in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Heo announced a promise to customers: “We share a better daily life just for you with sincere service and empathetic digital technology,” and urged employees to internalize GS Retail’s unique new organizational values and ways of working.
Heo also announced GS Retail’s 2022 management strategy, focusing on ▲data-driven customer satisfaction as the top priority ▲consolidation of company-wide capabilities to strengthen product competitiveness ▲building growth infrastructure to create integrated synergies.
To prioritize data-driven customer satisfaction management, Heo emphasized the importance of integrating and utilizing big data collected from all online and offline channels to enhance personalized marketing capabilities and continuously provide new customer experiences throughout the life cycle within GS Retail’s channels.
Heo identified product competitiveness as a core strength that can provide customer experiences distinctly differentiated from competitors. To this end, GS Retail plans to expand the development of differentiated customized products such as meal kits and consolidate capabilities across all channels, including pre-order sales of popular exclusive products from the Home Shopping BU at GS The Fresh.
To create integrated synergies and build growth infrastructure, GS Retail will actively nurture quick commerce, pet-related, and food businesses and strengthen connections with core businesses. Last year, the company made direct investments totaling 550 billion KRW in 13 companies including Yogiyo, About Pet, and Cookat, setting securing future growth engines and actively fostering new businesses to enhance synergy with existing core businesses as key management policies.
