HanmiGlobal Chairman Jonghun Kim: "Globalization Through Innovation in the New Normal Era"
[Asia Economy, Reporter Ryu Taemin] Jonghun Kim, Chairman of HanmiGlobal, stated on January 3, "Last year, HanmiGlobal exceeded its company-wide management plan and achieved the best performance since its founding. However, the current global environment is uncertain and ambiguous, ushering in a 'new normal' era where 'new standards' are required in many areas."
Chairman Kim made these remarks in his New Year's address on this day, presenting nine key agendas to be implemented in the new year.
First, he urged a shift in perspective on construction to discover new value and business opportunities. He emphasized the need to reassess whether services meet changing customer needs and market conditions, and to reorganize them from an integrated perspective.
He also stated that HanmiGlobal should pivot its core business toward "creator-driven" projects, in which the company takes the lead. He proposed diversifying representative creator-driven projects, such as development projects, and seeking ways to secure business leadership.
He called for the smart transformation of construction production methods and the enhancement of digital capabilities to lead the automation of production systems that have traditionally relied on manpower and on-site operations. He said that HanmiGlobal should efficiently innovate its PM services through digital transformation, and achieve differentiation by providing creative solutions using technologies such as the metaverse and AI.
He also emphasized the importance of globalization. He said that the company should globalize its workforce, strategies, and operational systems beyond existing businesses, and create diverse business opportunities through convergence and collaboration with other industries. Additionally, he urged the formation of a collaborative network in the global market by promoting the globalization of employees and fostering mutual exchanges with global expert groups in various fields. Chairman Kim also stressed the importance of talent, highlighting the need to nurture outstanding internal talent and attract capable external professionals.
He mentioned the necessity of risk management as well. Given the persistent political, economic, and social turmoil and uncertainties, such as the emergence of COVID-19 variants and the end of quantitative easing, he stated that business processes and risk management systems must be further advanced.
