Korea Consumer Agency Appoints Jeong Dong-yeong as New Deputy Director
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] The Korea Consumer Agency announced on the 3rd that it has appointed Jeong Dong-yeong, a standing director, as the new vice president.
Vice President Jeong is the first internally promoted vice president since the Korea Consumer Agency was established in 1987. He joined as part of the 5th open recruitment in 1992 and has served as Director of the Damage Relief Bureau, Head of the Seoul Branch, and Director of the Management Support Office.
Over the past 30 years, Vice President Jeong has worked to establish a community-based consumer protection foundation. He systematically collected hazard information from local governments nationwide, the National Fire Agency, and emergency rooms of general hospitals, linking it to the Consumer Hazard Monitoring System to lay the groundwork for consumer safety work. In 2015, he contributed to preventing consumer damage from overseas direct purchases by establishing an international trade portal site.
