At the New Year's ceremony held at LH headquarters on the same day, President Kim made these remarks and presented four key management directions to achieve these goals.
First, he urged to concentrate the entire organization's capabilities on successfully implementing policies such as expanding housing supply and balanced national development. To stabilize the recent downward trend in the real estate market, President Kim stated that LH will continue to expand housing supply in the metropolitan area through the 3rd New Town projects and the 2.4 measures, focus on supplying rental-type housing using purchase rental schemes, and support balanced national development and private sector overseas expansion by creating urban high-tech industrial complexes, K-Smart Cities, and K-Industrial Complexes.
He also proposed creating new business models for cities and housing beyond supplying customized housing according to life cycle, household, and regional demand. President Kim announced plans to proactively develop future-oriented city and housing models that can embrace major transitions such as demographic and social environment changes, post-COVID-19, and carbon neutrality to meet public expectations, and to establish future smart cities utilizing new technologies such as youth alternative housing near urban transit stations and digital twin and urban development BIM (Building Information Modeling).
He emphasized the need to provide high-quality residential welfare services that satisfy the public. Based on LH’s 60 years of accumulated know-how, he urged employees to fully demonstrate their creativity in enhancing public services by considering the public’s perspective, including innovations in public housing defect repairs, housing quality improvement, and advancement of residential welfare information systems.
Lastly, he stated that 2022 should be the inaugural year of ESG management, aiming to enhance sustainability through ESG practices. He revealed plans to expand zero-energy cities and housing with guaranteed sustainability, strive for mutual growth with small and medium enterprises, ensure the safety of workers and residents, introduce ESG management that spreads a culture of fairness, integrity, and transparency throughout the organization, and strengthen financial soundness management to improve LH’s sustainability.
President Kim emphasized, "Even in difficult circumstances where we must continue heavy policy projects and internal innovation, let us make a new leap forward with the spirit of ‘Haehyeon-gyeongjang (解弦更張)’, which means tightening the strings of a geomungo (Korean traditional string instrument) anew."
