View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] A claim has been raised that a healthy father was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer after receiving the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine made by the American pharmaceutical company 'Moderna.'
On the 31st of last month, a post titled "My dad, who doesn't drink or smoke, was suddenly diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer after receiving the Moderna vaccine. Please help" was uploaded on the Blue House National Petition Board.
The petitioner, who identified themselves as the child of the vaccinated person, explained, "My father has consistently managed his health and underwent annual health checkups," adding, "He was diagnosed with diabetes 8 years ago and has been taking diabetes medication since, but he had no other illnesses."
It was reported that the petitioner's father received the Moderna vaccine on July 29 and September 9 of last year, respectively. However, from the afternoon of the day he completed the second dose, symptoms such as headaches, muscle pain, dizziness, and heartburn persisted. Although he was prescribed medication and took it, his health rapidly deteriorated, including a sudden weight loss of 5 kg.

A biopsy confirmed that the petitioner's father was diagnosed with stomach cancer.
The petitioner said, "For surgery preparation, MRI and blood tests were conducted, revealing that the cancer had already spread to the lymph nodes, delaying surgery. Two weeks later, more precise tests showed the cancer had metastasized to the liver," adding, "At first, it was stage 1, but now it has been diagnosed as stage 4."
They continued, "My father began chemotherapy in early December, and not only have his mouth and nose become sore and he lost his sense of taste, but persistent diarrhea and high fever have caused dehydration. He cannot do anything without the help of family members," and "He eventually submitted a leave of absence on December 29." They lamented, "With continuous high fever and heartburn almost daily, he can barely stand and is gradually losing strength. Our family’s hearts are breaking."
