[New Year's Message] Jung Young-chae, President of NH Securities, "Enhancing Customer Value... Strengthening ESG Operating System"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Jung Young-chae, CEO of NH Investment & Securities, emphasized that all operational systems of the company must be established and conducted with a focus on enhancing customer value.
Jung Young-chae, CEO of NH Investment & Securities, stated in his New Year's address on the 3rd, "If we continue to maintain a customer-centric operational system and organizational culture, there will still be many opportunities for us."
He predicted that the financial environment this year would not be as bright as last year. He diagnosed that the uncertainty affecting asset prices is increasing due to the slowdown in economic growth and the deceleration of liquidity growth. He also pointed out that investment instruments are becoming more diverse and the pace of change in digital technology is accelerating.
Jung said, "The post-pandemic period has always been a series of newness," adding, "Across all industries, countless new and innovative businesses have emerged, and the financial sector has also seen virtual assets, unlisted stocks, and fractional investments gain attention as new investment instruments. Everything, including the products and services customers want and even the criteria for selection, has changed completely."
He emphasized, "All our decision-making criteria must always be placed on the customer."
Jung advised, "We must be very cautious not to prematurely assume customer needs based on past experiences or to predict business success or failure solely based on short-term profit and loss statements. Continuously seeking what customers want and considering differentiated approaches is the most necessary attitude for us in facing newness."
He stressed that cooperation between business divisions must also be strengthened to enhance customer service.
He said, "The boundaries between organizations are only our story; customers want to freely use all our services. Therefore, boldly eliminating things that do not help customers and challenging the creation of new customer value will be recognized with greater value."
Jung also stated that the operational system from the perspective of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) must be steadily strengthened.
He explained, "As the scope of services expands, establishing appropriate customer protection and risk management systems, and fulfilling the social responsibilities required as a member of NongHyup Financial Group, are closely connected to creating more sustainable customer value."
