Omicron Infections Surpass 1,200 Cumulative Cases... 93 New Cases in One Day
[Asia Economy Reporter Joselgina] The number of Omicron variant COVID-19 infections in South Korea increased by about 90 in one day, surpassing a cumulative total of 1,200 cases.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced on the 2nd at midnight that 93 new Omicron variant cases were confirmed. Among the new cases, 64 were domestic infections (community transmission), and 29 were imported cases. As a result, the cumulative number of Omicron infections rose to 1,207.
Among the imported cases, the largest number came from arrivals from the United States with 13 cases. This was followed by 3 from the United Kingdom, 2 each from the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Canada, and the Philippines, and 1 each from the United Arab Emirates, Czech Republic, Croatia, Tunisia, and France.
