UAE Bans Departure of Nationals Unvaccinated with Booster Shot
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is banning overseas travel for its citizens who have not received a COVID-19 booster shot.
On the 1st (local time), the state news agency WAM reported that the UAE National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NECDMA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced, "For the safety of citizens, starting from the 10th, citizens who have not received the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will be prohibited from leaving the country."
However, this does not apply to foreigners such as migrant workers, who make up a significant portion of the total population, or those who cannot receive the vaccine due to medical reasons.
