20s Arrested for Attempted Sexual Assault 8 Days After Non-Detained Investigation Following Sexual Assault Charge
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A man in his 20s who was arrested on charges of sexual assault and was under non-custodial investigation was detained nine days after it was revealed that he attempted sexual assault.
On the 30th, Judge Lee Se-chang, in charge of warrants at the Seoul Central District Court, issued an arrest warrant for Lee Mo (22), who is accused of aggravated rape, stating, "The criminal charges are substantiated and there is a risk of flight."
On the evening of the 27th, around 8 p.m., Lee is accused of attempting to sexually assault a woman in her 20s at his home in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and assaulting her face and other areas. Lee was arrested following a report from the victim who escaped about two hours later.

Lee had also been reported and arrested by the police on the 19th on charges including sexual assault, but the police explained that the testimonies of Lee and the victim sharply contradicted each other and there was insufficient evidence to prove the charges, so Lee was released and investigated without detention. The police applied for an arrest warrant after investigating Lee's additional crimes.
